POSITION PURPOSE: Within the Division of Student Affairs, the Campus Programming (CP) department is a vital member of the Student Affairs division and provides opportunities for campus collaborations between students, faculty and staff on programs and events. The Campus Programming department is responsible for leading traditional programs including but not limited to, `Runner Nights, Week of Welcome (WOW), Brown Bag Discussions, Expression Nights, `Runner Letter Day, International Education Week, Homecoming Week, Study Strong, New Student Convocation and collaborating with other social, educational, and cultural events/programs such as Latinx Heritage Month, Black History Month, New Students & Family Weekend, OUTober and others.
Under general supervision of the CP Director, the Campus Programming Coordinator works alongside the CP team to enhance the student life experience and school spirit at CSUB. The incumbent will contribute to the department's mission of promoting active and informed engagement through traditional and innovative educational, cultural, and social programs and provide leadership development opportunities that nurture the personal and professional development of our students.
The CP Coordinator will be responsible for working closely with the Director on a broad range of moderately complex projects involving the advisement and leadership development of the students in the Sensational Sophomores program, campus-wide programming, day-to-day operations of the department including student assistant lead direction, budget monitoring, and space scheduling on 25Live. The coordinator will assist in coordinating day-of event logistics that will require schedule flexibility for evening and weekend events.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE - Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or job-related field and two (2) years of recent related experience. Specialized experience during which the applicant has acquired and successfully applied the appropriate knowledge and abilities may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. A master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of the professional experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: LIGHT WORK - involves mainly sitting, up to 25% standing or walking; lifting medium weight objects limited to 25 pounds.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Campus-wide Programming
- Collaborate with the Campus Programming team to conceptualize, develop, and implement a diverse range of campus-wide events and activities, ensuring alignment with the university's mission and student interests.
- Contribute to the development of event themes, objectives, and schedules, considering student feedback and cultural diversity.
- Coordinate logistical aspects such as securing venues, arranging for equipment and supplies, and coordinating event timelines to ensure smooth execution.
- Coordinate the dissemination of promotional materials including flyers, posters, social media content, and email campaigns to effectively market events to the campus community.
- Participate in planning committees, offering guidance on event logistics, budgeting, risk management, and attendee engagement strategies.
Student Advisement and Leadership Development
- Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of the CSUB Sensational Sophomores program (Sophomores, Juniors, and Senior Classes), a campus group that selects academically responsible freshman and develops them as leaders.
- Track academic performance of the students by maintaining comprehensive records of academic achievements to ensure graduation pathway success.
- Serve as a resource for students by providing guidance on community service opportunities and participation by actively researching, curating, and disseminating information about various community service initiatives, organizations and events both on and off-campus.
- Engage with program students and contribute to their academic success.
- Maintain consistent communication with students by phone, email, and face-to-face ensuring program retention and completion.
- Provide leadership development to students by exposing students to campus leaders through monthly engagements and presenting on leadership topics.
- Assist with coordinating and planning opportunities with campus leaders to meet with the program students.
- Support program logistics to ensure a quality experience for the students.
Department Rental Space Scheduling & Billing
- Responsible for scheduling the CSUB Stockdale Room and Courtyard including daily work on 25Live to ensure approvals and billing for events, meetings, and programs are completed accurately.
Department Operations and Budget Support
- Assist the Director of Campus Programming with the day-to-day functions of the department.
- Provide lead direction to student assistants through scheduling and assigning daily responsibilities.
- Monitor department email account for inquiries and assist with answering and responding to department calls.
- Perform regular budget reviews as a part of pro-card reconciliations, paying invoices, and event reports.

- Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, or related field.
- Experience working in a higher education setting, specifically in student programming.
- Experience advising and mentoring students, with a focus on leadership development and academic success.
- Demonstrated skills in an institutional/educational environment utilizing a customer-oriented and service-centered attitude.
